China's First Antelope & Wild Yak Wildlife National Park Established

The Changtang Tibetan Antelope and Wild Yak National Park, the first large-scale wildlife national park in China, was inaugurated in Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region, Sept. 16, 2015, Xinhua reported.

It is the largest national park with the highest altitude and most typical species in China. It is also home to large numbers of rare and endangered wild animals such as Tibetan antelope, wild yak, wild Tibetan donkey and snow leopard.

The park will be expanded on the basis of the Changtang National Nature Reserve, a new form to protect the typical wild animals on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

To build a wildlife national park is one of the best means to not only protect rare and endangered wild animal species and habitats and even their ecosystem, but also strengthen wildlife protection and achieve harmony between human and nature.
