On August 19th, at about 11 a.m., the first Xiamen-Chengdu-Europe Rail beginning from Xiamen Haicang Free Trade Port Zone arrived at Chengdu Qingbaijiang Railway Port. This was the first extension rail of Chengdu-Europe Express Rail as well as the only China-Europe rail from Free Trade Zone in China. These goods from Xiamen to Europe will be exported to Europe in half of the period in about 60% cost compared with traditional railway transportation.

　　This rail started from Canghai Port on August 16th fully loaded with electronic products, light industrial products, building materials and daily necessities, and so on. After a short stay in Chengdu, these goods will be carried to Lodz, Poland by Chengdu-Europe Express Rail on August 31st.
 
　　The responsible official from Chengdu Municipal Logistics Office that the opening of Xiamen-Chengdu-Europe Rail would provide a convenient logistics platform and channel for domestic and Taiwan goods to Europe as well as goods from European countries to be exported to China. Meanwhile, it also opens a new ocean channel for Sichuan enterprises to Taiwan Strait and remedying Chengdu’s disadvantages of being far away from the sea.
