Shopping in Chengdu Sichuan
Night Markets:
Chengdu’s night market is located near the Jiang Hotel. It has a great atmosphere and is a wonderful place to people watch, mingle with the locals, and perhaps pick up some mementos of your trip to China. The market offers a bit of everything, from embroidered silk, to local snacks, porcelain ware, to tea. Bargaining is expected and is a fun part of the experience.
Jinli Ancient Street:
Located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, the Jinli Ancient Street was designed in the style of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The street is lined with teahouses, bars, restaurants, and shops. The street showcases Sichuan’s culture and at night, the street takes on a whole new look with traditional red lanterns and beautiful shop displays lit up to entice visitors. It is a wonderful place to stroll, eat local snacks, and perhaps pick up a piece of artwork for your home.
