Tibet's Gyantse Further Promotes Local Tourism
Tourism has become Gyantse's pillar industry for economic development. Themed as the history of resistance against the British colonial army and the red culture, Gyantse puts forth effort to promote its own tourism brand -- "Red River Valley".
2017 "Charming Gyantse, Tour to Red River Valley" tourism promotion was held in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, on Nov. 16.
Gyantse County's government proposed the strategic concept of developing the local economy with tourism in 2013. Through making full use of local cultural resources, Gyantse further promotes its tourism industry. With cultural industry as the center of its tourism development, Gyantse accelerates the cultivation of dynamic and varied tourism cultural industrial cluster, pushing forward the integration of tourism industry and cultural industry.
Gyantse will carry out a "6+1" tour route involving one castle, one park, one ancient street, one monastery , one estate, one wetland and one perform. In 2016, the county received 139,000 tourists, generating 48.65 million yuan in tourism revenue.
